Expanded Synthetic Promoter Library Introduced to Boost Biomanufacturing Operations

SynGenSys, based in Sheffield, U.K., reports that it has introduced its CHO.SET^® 2.0 synthetic gene promoter system to improve protein production in CHO (Chinese Hamster Ovary) cells.

Selected vectors have been shown to achieve over 4x higher antibody productivity, with titers exceeding 2 g/L in a simple fed-batch flask model, he continues, while pointing out that the synthetic promoter pools also contain a higher proportion of high-expressing cells, increasing the likelihood of isolating top-performing clones.
