Keatley Joins The Livestock Conservancy Staff

Ashley Keatley, an experienced agricultural educator, has joined the staff of The Livestock Conservancy as education and outreach coordinator.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience, she holds degrees from the State University of New York at Cobleskill, State University of New York – Schenectady and Greensboro College. A former agriculture agent with Cornell University Cooperative Extension, Keatley joins the North Carolina-based nonprofit with a wide range of livestock and education experience. She has raised several heritage breeds, including the Oberhasli goat, Jersey Giant chickens, Sebastopol geese and has worked with Tamworth pigs.

She will be responsible for the development of Livestock Conservancy programs, events and initiatives to assist members with rare breed production, public education campaigns and serve as the point of contact for the organization’s popular Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em program, an effort to introduce fiber artists to heritage breed wools.

The Livestock Conservancy is a national membership organization dedicated to promoting, conserving and protecting over 180 endangered breeds of agricultural livestock spanning 11 species.
