ChatGPT Helps Australian Entrepreneur Develop Personalized Vaccine for Dog Cancer Treatment

Paul Conyngham, an Australian tech entrepreneur, has claimed to develop a personalised cancer vaccine for his dog Rosie using ChatGPT and advanced AI tools. Rosie, an eight-year-old Staffy–Shar Pei cross, was diagnosed with mast cell cancer and given only months to live after developing large tumours. After conventional treatments failed, Conyngham used his expertise in machine learning along with AlphaFold to analyse tumour-related proteins.

He collaborated with researchers at the University of New South Wales to design a custom mRNA vaccine targeting specific genetic mutations in the tumour, which was administered in December, NDTV reported.

Following the treatment, Rosie’s tumour reportedly reduced by nearly half, with noticeable improvement in her energy and activity levels. Conyngham stated that while the vaccine may not be a complete cure, it has significantly improved her quality of life. The case also involved regulatory approvals, which took several months to secure. Experts have highlighted this development as an example of how AI-driven personalised medicine could transform future cancer treatments, though further research and validation remain essential.
