Fake MBBS, BAMS degrees racket: Woman arrested in Rs 2.34 crore Raipur job scam

The accused has been identified and was involved in fabricating fake MBBS and BAMS degrees.

However, during interrogation, she admitted that, in collaboration with an accomplice, she used to fabricate fake MBBS and BAMS degrees in the name of Pune's DY Patil University and supply them to a gang. The police have also seized three mobile phones from her possession.

A complaint regarding this matter was lodged on February 17, 2026. He alleged that the accused defrauded him and his relatives of ₹2.34 crore under the pretext of securing jobs in the post office and providing forged certificates.

Subsequently, four accused have already been arrested in this case. Now, following the arrest of one more accused in the case, the police are engaged in investigating the entire network and are searching for the other culprits. 

Last year, Medical Dialogues had reported that a first-year student who gained admission at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, for the 2025-26 session, had lost her medical seat after an internal inquiry of the institute confirmed that she used a fake Scheduled Caste (SC) certificate to secure admission. Based on the inquiry findings, the RIMS administration initially suspended her after doubts arose about her caste certificate.
