Rs 50 lakh bond penalty for TN Super speciality admissions 2025

Tamil Nadu: Doctors seeking admission to super-speciality courses in Tamil Nadu Government Medical Colleges under the in-service quota will be required to execute a bond worth Rs 50 lakh, committing to serve the Tamil Nadu Government until superannuation after completing the course.

According to the prospectus issued by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DME&R), Chennai, in this regard, the bond requirement applies to in-service candidates admitted to Super Speciality (DM/MCh/DrNB) courses for the 2025 session (admission process being conducted in 2026).

The prospectus states that all service candidates selected for super speciality courses must execute a security bond of ₹50,00,000 with an undertaking that they will continue to serve the Government of Tamil Nadu until their superannuation.

The bond must be supported by three sureties, of which two should be permanent government employees of the same or higher rank than the candidate, while the third surety should be the candidate’s spouse or parent. PAN details of the sureties must also be furnished.

The bond will become void if the candidate completes the required government service after finishing the super speciality course, thereby fulfilling the service obligation.

The Tamil Nadu government stated that it invests significant public funds in medical education and provides stipends or salaries to doctors undergoing training. Therefore, the bond is intended to ensure that doctors who receive super speciality training serve the public healthcare system and provide medical services to the poor and needy in the state.

Admission to the super speciality courses will be based on NEET-SS 2025 scores, and the rank list will be prepared accordingly. Only in-service candidates working in Tamil Nadu Government institutions who have completed at least two years of continuous service and have sufficient remaining service after the course will be eligible to apply.
