A New Chapter for the Global Shrimp Council

Esther Luiten joins GSC as Executive Director

The Global Shrimp Council is pleased to welcome Esther Luiten as its new Executive Director, marking an important step as the organization continues building a stronger global platform for the shrimp industry and advancing its mission to inspire consumers around the world to choose shrimp more often.

Esther brings more than two decades of experience across international seafood, aquaculture and sustainability, including more than 12 years at the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), as well as leadership roles at IDH and the North Sea Foundation. She has also been closely involved in the development of the Global Shrimp Forum.

“Our industry has an enormous opportunity to tell a stronger, more unified story about shrimp. With Esther’s leadership, we are confident the GSC will continue building momentum and creating value for the entire sector,” said Gabriel Luna, Chairman and Co-Founder, Global Shrimp Council.

For Esther, the role is about bringing strategy, collaboration and execution together. “I look forward to bringing that experience and energy to the Global Shrimp Council and to working with members and partners around the world to help shrimp become a more visible and trusted choice for consumers.”

Her appointment comes at an exciting moment for the GSC, as we continue expanding our global marketing efforts, growing our member network and building on the momentum of The Happy Protein and Shrimp More Often.
